When my Grandma was alive, every year in December, I’d go to her house and help her make Christmas Salsa for her neighbors.

The spicy rich scent would fill her small kitchen with warmth. We’d sometimes open the door because it got so hot. That whole morning, we’d jam to Christmas music and fill up cup after cup of the salsa. I loved helping her.

Once everything was bagged and covered, I’d fill up a wagon and drag my little gifts all over her neighborhood.

Sometimes, it seemed to take forever! But now I’d give anything to re-live that holiday tradition with her.

In honor of her, I want to share the recipe with you. It makes A LOT (she’d always have a HUGE pot of this salsa) making it a perfect gift for your neighbors.

Grandma’s Christmas Salsa

What you’ll need:

4: 8 oz can El Pato Hot Sauce
4: 8 oz can Taco Sauce
4: 32 oz Tomato Sauce

2 bunches of green onions (tops and greens) chopped
3 Tablespoons of sugar
1 teaspoon of garlic powder
2-3 teaspoons of salt

Place all of the wet ingredients in your pot first. Let that cook for a bit and then add your dry ingredients. Let it simmer for an hour and VOILA! Christmas Salsa for the neighbors!

Also, I love getting multicolored chips to make the treat even more festive 😉

I love and miss my Grandma D. I know I’m biased, but she was the best Grandma a girl could hope for. She lived ten minutes away from my house so we visited her every week.

She’d always have red cream soda (mine and my brother’s favorite), Lays, pickles, hot dogs, and chocolate M&M’s. She loved spoiling us with treats and always came over for birthdays and parties.

I’ll always miss her especially during the holidays. I hope you can enjoy one of our favorite traditions!

What’s your favorite holiday treat? Please share it in the comments and have a beautiful week! 😊
