“I truly believe that everything that we do and everyone that we meet is put in our path for a purpose. There are no accidents” (Marla Gibbs)

On one of my days in Honolulu I decided to check out the Hawaii State Art Museum. While there, I discovered this interesting piece titled Three Points Within by John Tanji Koga.

When I first looked at it, I didn’t notice anything mysterious or fascinating. It just looked like a burnt piece of wood. But a clip from the description of the piece hit me deep.

“We are guided in life by a series of meeting points. It may be the crossing of paths, the meeting of two people, or the critical decision-making moments that determine one’s outcome and defines understanding.”

In our journey through life we all experience moments of chance

Maybe we meet someone who will one day change our lives. Maybe they’ll gift you with one small miracle, and maybe you’ll never see them again. But just for that moment, that one single tiny moment, they were there when you needed them most.

I love that.

It gives life a sense of adventure and purpose. You never know how your words or touch might save someone’s life. You never know how much of an impact you’re creating in the world around you.

The path you walk is full of hellos and goodbyes. Make every crossing, every chance meeting, count. Be that person others can depend on. You just don’t know what someone might be going through.
