Making a Difference
“People who really want to make a difference in the world usually do it, in one way or another. And I’ve noticed something about people who make a difference in the world: They hold the unshakable conviction that individuals are extremely important, that every life matters. They get excited over one smile. They are willing to feed one stomach, educate one mind, and treat one wound. They aren’t determined to revolutionize the world all at once; they’re satisfied with small changes. Over time, though, the small changes add up. Sometimes they even transform cities and nations, and yes, the world.” ~Beth Clark
It’s The Little Things
It’s saying “hello” to someone who looks sad. It’s leaving a note for someone to let them know that you care. Sitting on the couch in silence, but enjoying the moment of togetherness. Sending a gif or meme because it reminds you of them. It’s all of those little things that add up to making a huge difference in someone’s life.
It’s Caring For Yourself
It’s looking after yourself when you don’t want to. It’s noticing the beautiful things about yourself and telling your inner critic that they’re lying. That you are wonderful. That there are people who like you. That you are not alone and you’re going to be okay.
Maybe you feel like you don’t matter today. Maybe this week was a terrible no good rotten week. If it was I’m sorry.
Keep trying, because with every night comes the morning.
And you are worth it.
